Description
Everything that is against nature does not last in the long run,
Charles Darwin (1809-1882)
Our property has a size of about 2½ ha. The natural garden as the center has a size of about 6000m².
The planting is mostly native. Various habitats are available to the local fauna.
There is a pond, several flower meadows, some rock gardens (not to be confused with gravel gardens), several benjes hedges, piles of dead wood etc.
Around 80 nesting boxes are available for the bird world as a breeding opportunity. Several wild bee hotels for wild bees.
Integrated in the natural garden is my mother's kitchen garden.
Furthermore, there is a meadow orchard with around 30, mostly tall fruit trees.
There is a small meadow adjacent to the orchard. The meadow is no longer fertilized and traditionally only mowed twice a year.
In the course of time, a species-rich flower meadow will develop. Furthermore, several wild hedges are being laid out on the meadow.
Hedges are a very valuable habitat. Already every 5th bird species has been observed in or on a hedge.
This shows how important the hedge habitat is for our flora and fauna.
Let the pictures sink in.
