ORGANIC DISTILLERY - SENSORY SCIENCE & CRAFTSMANSHIP
At the Organic Distillery, Christine Brugger combines her knowledge as a sensory scientist with the traditional craft of distillation, which she is the fourth generation to practise on Lake Constance. With this unique combination, she distils sensory experiences from organically certified plants in very small batches: intense, complex and long-lasting. During the distillation process, a Holstein copper still specially handcrafted in the neighborhood is used to protect the fragile aromas. These then develop again over several years in the glass.
Science and exclusive craftsmanship - organic and in small batches Christine Brugger's passion for fragrances goes hand in hand with her specialist knowledge. This is the basis for the development of the Organic Distillery's handmade and exceptionally complex distillates. This is how Christine developed the first two Organic Distillery spirits tailored to the nose or palate: Ginn and Ginnie.
These two concentrated, fragrant, intense gins - with uniquely complex aromas obtained from organic botanicals - are made entirely by hand by Christine and are therefore only available in very small quantities. A treat for anyone who appreciates something special.
Innovation "Organic Distillery Essences" - fragrances and natural flavors to the point
With the new Organic Distillery Essences, Christine Brugger has succeeded in capturing the intense but fleeting aromas of fruits, herbs and rare plants in essences - unadulterated, organic quality and unique in their clarity and depth:
"During my work as a sensory scientist, I developed an extensive sensory library. It was important to me to extract these aromas gently and naturally and to make the essences and key aromas accessible to chefs, bartenders, gourmets and amateur cooks - practically dosable and for inspired use in the kitchen or at the bar, for new food pairings and flavor intensifications". That was the birth of Organic Distillery Essences.
CHRISTINE BRUGGER
Christine Brugger grew up on a fruit farm on Lake Constance, which her parents have been running biodynamically as a pioneering farm since 1973. As a sensory scientist, she leads international sensory research projects, and in 2011 she founded the company Aroma/Reich based in Zurich (www.aromareich.ch). As a lecturer and speaker, she uses her professional sensory experience to train brandy, spice and cheese sommeliers. Her clients include larger and medium-sized customers in the food industry and gastronomy as well as smaller manufacturers and direct marketers.
Since the end of 2014, Christine Brugger has been running the Organic Distillery on the family farm, where she applies her knowledge and experience from science to craftsmanship.
