Kühn the ruins of Reußenstein stand on the towering rocky reef on the northern edge of the Swabian Alb. It is an ideal example of a medieval castle ruin and one of the most beautiful in the Swabian Alb with a magnificent view of the Neidling valley. It was built by the Reuß, a lower noble family from Kirchheim. After several changes of ownership in noble circles, it was finally abandoned in the 16th century. After acquisition by the Esslingen district, it was restored for viewing in 1965/66.
