Beschreibung
The AHA and ABC experience for everyone
Located on the shores of Lake Constance, the Friedrichshafen School Museum offers an exciting journey through the history of schools in Germany on three floors. The varied tour begins with the Middle Ages and includes school desks, pencil boxes, slates and much more to touch and discover.
At the heart of the exhibition are three originally furnished classrooms that take visitors back to everyday school life in 1850, 1900 and 1930. School desks and slates invite visitors to try things out. Historic teaching materials and cherished relics such as pencil boxes, satchels and school bags tell their school stories and encourage visitors to reminisce about their own childhood days. Among the many exhibits, some particularly curious ones stand out, such as a finger calculator, a portable planetarium or a tin satchel.
Current special exhibition: "romantic, magical, dark - children and the Middle Ages"
We still find the Middle Ages everywhere today, especially in children's rooms. Why is this the case? And how has the image of the Middle Ages changed for children over the centuries? The School Museum explores these questions in its current special exhibition. And it shows how children actually lived in the Middle Ages. An exciting insight into times long past that still continues to fascinate us today.
