The Baden State Museum
The Baden State Museum is the major museum for cultural history in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and one of the highest profile museums in Germany. The museum houses significant international collections reflecting the art and cultural heritage of prehistoric and ancient times. Displayed in several museums, the exhibits span right in to the 21st century.
Beschreibung
The main museum (Hauptmuseum) is located in Karlsruhe Palace. Its main exhibition examines developments from prehistoric and ancients times up until the absolute monarchy. The collections are complemented by regular series of special exhibitions, such as exhibitions on the Orient or the Neolithic Age.
The museum adheres closely to its philosophy of ‘A focus on people’ with the vivid and memorable design of its collections and temporary exhibitions. A varied programme of accompanying events and educational offerings have made theBaden State Museuma popular attraction throughout the year for children, young people and adults.
