The region around Grafenhausen and Ühlingen-Birkendorf offers many possibilities for activities. Visitors can enjoy the idyllic countryside or indulge in sporting activities. The Rothauser Land is named after the Rothaus State Brewery in Grafenhausen, which is the highest brewery in Germany and has gained international fame with its cult beer "Tannenzäpfle".
In addition to the beer "Tannenzäpfle", the Rothauser Land has another internationally known landmark. Who does not know the typical Schwarzwaldhaus, which was shown as the residence of Professor Brinkmann in the TV series Schwarzwaldklinik? Today it houses the Hüsli Museum of Local History. Old furnitures from the surrounding cottages are on display, giving visitors a real sense of nostalgia.
On hot summer days, a trip to the Schlühüwanapark is also worthwhile. The circular path attracts families with a barefoot trail, a variety of hand-carved figures, as well as various play stations. Along the way, stop for a swim at the picturesque lake "Schlüchtsee".
In rainy weather, the museum "Haus der Sinne" is a great tip, especially for families. There are numerous stations where you can test your senses under the motto "gugge, mache, wunderfitze" (which means "watch, do, be curious").
When the snow gently covers the mountains and forests, the Rothauser Land is transformed into a winter wonderland. Miles of ski trails, family-friendly lifts and slopes for tobogganing will not only make the hearts of winter sports enthusiasts beat faster.
