Lake Schluchsee, who is a glacial lake, offers a wide range of leisure activities for families as well as for water sports enthusiasts. Visitors can especially enjoy the clean water. Numerous vacation apartments and other accommodation facilities invite you to a relaxing vacation.
The former glacial lake was dammed up about 90 years ago and then became the highest dam in Germany. The lake has developed into a swimming and water sports center in the southern black forest. It's therefore a great place not only for swimmers, but also for fans of fishing, diving, surfing and sailing, who will find first-class sports facilities at lake Schluchsee.
The aqua fun leisure pool is a meeting place for the younger generation: the heated pool, located directly on the lake, offers a 105-meter giant slide, a current channel and a children's adventure playground.
The beautiful landscape around the lake is perfect for wonderful hiking and biking tours. In 2005 it even got announced as the most popular hiking place in Germany. The 18-kilometer-long hiking trail "Seerundweg", which leads directly along the water, has also contributed to this. The premium trail "Jägersteig" is also a highlight for hiking fans. Schluchsee is also connected to the long distance hiking trails !Schwarzwald-Mittelweg" and "Schluchtensteig". The hiking trail network adds up to 160 kilometers.
Also the wishes of bikers are met here: the black forest vacation area has over 300 kilometers of signposted trails, ranging from easy to sporty, with the perfect trail for every tire and condition.
