Around Alpersbach (Rund um Alpersbach)

At the end of the tour, let the Gasthaus Engel treat you to a hearty snack.

We start our tour at the hiking car park behind the Gasthaus Engel and go behind the pond of Gasthaus Engel and onto a broad path that leads us to the Klausenpass (1,084 m) and further to the Sägehof Forest wayside cross. There, we take a sharp left onto a forest path that leads us steeply down to the road. After crossing the road, we walk along the Winteracker, a meadow path down the valley to the Weberhansen cross, but pass by the Weberhansenhof farm, which is on the left. We now follow the signs to the Hinterwaldkopf hut. However, we turn right shortly before a bridge and follow a ruggedly picturesque path along the Alpersbach, from where we soon cross a wooden bridge. After the next fork in the path, we stick to the left, along on forest and meadow paths. The many benches along the path repeatedly provide opportunities to stop for a breather, also allowing one to enjoy the magnificent views over Alpersbach as far as the Hochfirst. Once we have arrived at the end of the path, we go onto the Schulterdobelweg path. Then we keep to the left and continue to follow the signs on a narrow forest path as far as the wayside cross on the Dr. Ganter Weg. At the wayside cross, we turn left onto a narrow forest path towards Alpersbach and go further downhill as far as the children’s playground at the Hanselehof farm, where we reach Rinkenstraße. We follow this road down the valley and after a few metres we turn onto a forest path, which leads us back to the Gasthaus Engel.
