Description
Spanning approximately 50 kilometers, the "Obstroute" stretches from Göppingen through Süßen to Kirchheim/Teck. The route's path ensures variety and provides attractive views into the natural landscapes of the Albvorland. The route is predominantly characterized by charming, idyllic villages. The distinctive panorama of the Three Imperial Mountains – Hohenstaufen, Rechberg, and Stuifen – typical for the district of Göppingen, unfolds particularly impressively from the Voralb region, offering splendid photo opportunities from various points.
The communities along the route boast refined gastronomic specialties and traditional offerings from local production. The "Obstroute" passes by numerous agricultural enterprises that offer the finest fruit products made on-site.
Directions
Starting from Kirchheim/Teck, the cycling route first passes through the city center of Kirchheim and then veers away from the B297 towards Schlierbach. Across the Voralb region, the route extends from Hattenhofen through Bad Boll to Dürnau and Gammelshausen. Continuing eastward, the villages of Eschenbach and Schlat are traversed before descending into the Filstal valley, reaching the town of Süßen. Recently, the route has been extended to include the orchard areas around Salach and Eislingen. Finally, the route leads to the city center of Göppingen, offering numerous places to stop and connect with the regional transportation of the Filstal region.
