Extracted from a landscape that has been created and shaped over thousands of years by the forces of nature and human inventions.

Adventure cycle route from natural wonders to Alb enjoyment

The Swabian Alb Cycle Route is not just a long-distance cycle route, but an adventure route, a "Best of Swabian Alb", so to speak. Start the morning in cosy half-timbered towns and cycle from there into the countryside. Sometimes along meandering streams, sometimes through deep gorges. Past turquoise karst springs, Jura rock and juniper heaths. With a wealth of rustic inns, long-established breweries and sun terraces that invite you to take a rest, but also to sample the flavours. On each stage, long-distance cyclists can expect a very special highlight with the Top Tip: a striking mountain with a mysterious history, a fruit sparkling wine tasting in an exquisite manufactory, one of the most beautiful marketplaces in southern Germany or the SchieferErlebnis Dormettingen, where visitors can tap for ancient fossils themselves.
