Description
After a successful ascent, enjoy the view of the Hohenlohe countryside from the Einkorn.
Directions
The starting point is the market square, which you leave at the Löwen pharmacy in a southerly direction through Obere Herrngasse. The route is marked with a green 1 on a white background. You continue along Unter limpurger Straße (station 1 of the geological nature trail at house no. 33). Turn left into Haalsteige before the municipal utilities. From here you have your first beautiful view of Großcomburg Castle.
Walk through two gates and follow Neu stetterstraße to its end in Steinbach. Turn left into Bildersteige and walk up to the entrance to Großcomburg Castle. It is definitely worth a visit! The hiking trail now leads through the avenue down to Großcomburger Weg, which you follow to the right until you reach the traffic lights at Hessentaler Straße. After crossing the road, take a few steps to the left, then cross the small bridge and turn right up Waschwiesenweg to the crossroads. Now turn half left up to Bahnhofsstraße and continue to the railway station.
It is also possible to get here from the old town from Spitalbach with the city bus lines 1 and 4, which shortens the walking time by approx. 1.5 hours; free car parking in the P + R car park behind the station in Einkornstraße.
Cross the railway footbridge and walk along Einkornallee to Einkornstraße. A wonderful hiking trail leads past the sawmill up through the forest to Hall's local mountain, the Einkorn (510 m). Geostations 10 to 12 provide information on the ascent. 28 m high observation tower offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Hohenlohe countryside. The restaurant with beer garden, playground and barbecue station invites you to stop for a bite to eat and also offers overnight accommodation, www.einkorn-gasthaus.de.
The hiking trail now leads from the restaurant approx. 150m along the car park to the antenna mast on the right-hand side. Continue straight ahead along the forest path on the left until you reach a paved path coming from the right. 100 metres further on, you reach a fork in the path, which you follow to the left of the markings until you reach the forest clearing. Take a sharp left downhill through the forest to the railway line.
Here you can return to Hessental station by following the railway line to the left.
After crossing the railway line, walk down to the left past the carpentry shop to Grundwiesenweg. Now turn left to Einkornstraße, cross it and turn right along the footpath to the bridge over the Grauwiesenbach stream. Now turn left along the stream, after approx. 100 metres turn right and walk uphill for approx. 50 metres to Riegelweg. Continue left and after approx. 120m a dirt track leads uphill. After approx. 200 metres you reach the footpath at the cemetery. Turn left and continue straight ahead for approx. 800m to the gardens. Now turn right again until you reach the Alte Hessentaler Straße. Follow this road downhill to the left for 50 metres and then turn right uphill to the Oberlimpurg seed farm. Now turn right uphill and after approx. 50 metres turn left and follow this path to Ellwanger Straße. Then walk left down to Badersklinge, but do not go through the Klinge, but turn right along Max Kade Weg, which leads into Seiferheldstraße.
Now turn left down the Fehleisenweg to the lower end of the Badersklinge. Once there, turn right and walk down to Unterlimpurger Straße. Cross this road and walk approx. 70 metres to the right, then left along Büschlerstraße down into the Ackeranlagen municipal park. Walk downstream through the park into the town centre to the New Globe, then turn right over the Steinerne Steg up to the market square.
