Description
Enjoy the Haller Klinge during this hike.
Directions
The starting point is the imposing market square, which you leave downtown via Neue Straße, marked with a green 4 on a white background. After the Henkersbrücke bridge, turn right into Loughborough Weg and walk downstream past the brine baths.
Cross the wooden bridge on the right towards Salinenstraße. Cross this and follow the footpath on the left to the car park entrance. Now cross the entrance to the bus station. Now turn right for approx. 50 metres, then take the newly created footpath to the pedestrian subway. In the subway, keep half right at first, but then leave the subway on the left.
After the subway, turn left along the cemetery for approx. 100 metres and then then turn right into the Wettbach. After the Teuchelsbrücke bridge, a former water viaduct, the route climbs steadily up the beautiful Wettbachklinge to the village of Weckrieden. Follow the road that runs alongside the Wettbach, turn right after 100 metres, walk uphill for another 100 metres and then turn left. After approx. 50 metres, cross Crailsheimer Straße and follow the slightly ascending, paved path that leads to Tüngentaler Straße.
There is a nursery on the right. Now cross the road and continue straight ahead in the direction of Hessental. Here you have a beautiful view of the Haller panoramic mountain Einkorn and the Limpurger mountains.
After approx. 500 metres, turn right and pass a biotope on the right until you reach a fork in the road. Turn left here past the indoor tennis centre to Schenkenseestraße. Turn left past the Schenkensee leisure pool until you reach the traffic lights on Ellwanger Straße.
On the footpath opposite, walk into town and after approx. 200 metres a path leads to the ruins of the imposing Limpurg Castle. A detour is also worthwhile because of the beautiful view of the Kocher valley and
to the Großcomburg.
You now walk straight ahead and then turn right onto the
Max-Kade-Weg until you reach Seiferheldstraße. There the Fehleisenweg leads down to the left. At the lower end, you will pass the Urbanskirche church and cross Unterlimpurger Straße. Now turn left down Urbanstraße into the Acker anlagen city park. Walk downstream through the park to the Kocher island of Unterwöhrd. Here you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the old town at the end of your walk. You can reach the Hällisch-Fränkisches Museum and the market square in just a few minutes via the Steinernen Steg
