Württemberg Valley Cycle Route - Stage 2: Aalen to Giengen an der Brenz
Medium
The next section offers three valleys: the Kocher valley and the Brenz valley - with the sources of the Kocher and Brenz rivers - as well as the Eselsburg valley. The latter is a true treasure of nature. Here, the Brenz draws a natural loop around a mountain range in a narrow valley. At the same time, unique shaped rock sculptures, such as the Stone Virgins, rise into the sky in the valley. A worthwhile side trip is the Steiff Museum in Giengen an der Brenz, where the world-famous stuffed animals and their inventor Margarete Steiff can be experienced up close. A visit to the memorial for Georg Elser in Königsbronn, who failed in an assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler in 1939, gets right under your skin.
